True North Development’s website truly was an adventure. Building on the concept of navigation with true north as the compass bearing and likening training to an expedition embarked upon, we created a site that visually and textually reinforced True North’s brand perspective. We had the opportunity to include some great flash elements that help introduce viewers to the three main offerings of True North Development, while communicating to their two specific target markets (potential clients needing training, and independent trainers looking for training opportunities).

The logo Redplum created for our St. John’s Academy Foundation is incredible! Not only did Redplum incorporate church history (the Knights of St. John’s), but they added a whimsical touch that represents who we are serving: our children. We have received so many compliments about our logo. It accomplished what we wanted: to bring our foundation into the 21st century, and to raise awareness of our foundation. All of Redplum’s work for the foundation incorporates that special touch. We are very pleased with their work!”
The site will be promoted at various entrepreneaurship and career fairs across the nation. The site allows visitors to browse available jobs in the area, create a log in and password to apply for jobs search but also showcases the community of Jamestown, highlights specific. Some of the specific features of the site include automatic updates to ensure job postings are relevant, automated email alerts to company HR managers, along with a full administration and employee login.

Here are some photos of a couple of projects that we have worked together with our most tenured client, Lifetime Eyecare. The first few are of a direct mail piece that targeted families in a 40 mile radius of Jamestown, promoting Lifetime’s Fall Student Exams. The piece included clients of Lifetime Eyecare and portrayed different aspects of going back to school, from unlimited text plan for a middle schooler, to lunch sack and love note from mom for an elementary schooler. The second is a reminder of clients next eye appointment. The last final piece was a stuffer in the Jamestown College students mailboxes after executing a guerrilla marketing campaign. This piece included a “Student Advantage Card” to source campaign effectiveness and calculate return on investment (ROI).

“We decided to work with Redplum Media because they came across as creative, professional and really listened and took to heart what we were looking for. Before moving into the creation of our brand, they took the time to figure out what the Chamber of Commerce and its Tourism and Economic Development subsidiaries were all about. Our new brand is outstanding! It captures an updated look, as well as capturing the essence of our lake and land, at the same time, giving our three identities a unified feel.

The photography they produced for our area is outstanding! Redplum provided us with professional photographs that rank with top photographers in the industry. I can’t wait to show them off in our new website and visitor’s guide.

I would highly recommend Redplum Media to anyone looking to update their website, print material, brand identity or photography.”

There was nothing better this past summer than sunny afternoons and early mornings out on the lake, meeting the people of community, and working in collaboration with the team from the Devils Lake Tourism, Economic Development, and Chamber of Commerce. We assembled a library of photos to authentically showcase the community and could be used in a variety promotions including their new website…(coming soon). In the end it was definitely one of those projects that felt more like a vacation than work.

The Situation:

Reading through the website you may be wondering our marketing theory behind the projects. So we will tighten up our tie a little bit and shed some light on the approach we bring to each project.

There was a clear and present disconnect in the JSDC brand identity. JSDC’s previous image – the hurricane, which is primarily destructive in nature, was inconsistent with JSDC’s mission of growth and support. Furthermore, the image of a hurricane – no matter how appropriate in theory – was still geographically misleading. We set out to reestablish the JSDC brand by building a solid foundation in which new concepts, branding, and every day details, could be executed seamlessly over numerous fronts in a consistent, effective manner.
Second, it was not enough just to keep pace with competitors, but instead outperform them, for the JSDC to achieve its strategic goals. The JSDC brand needed to be flexible enough to speak and connect with a variety of markets and agile enough to react to the fluctuating job market. Suffice to say that this is no easy task. By implementing a unique, consistent approach to brand development, we were confident that the JSDC brand would be able to stand out as one of the premier and attractive options to their target markets.

The Solution:

By creating a streamlined identity package, effective strategic planning, and consistent message, the JSDC will be able to assert itself as the foremost example of a unique, proficient, and successful economic development organization. The development of the logo was based upon a simple process that can be integrated into supporting, developing, or recruiting. Step 1 [trans]Plant (brown). Planting or transplanting businesses, entreprenuers, or families looking for career and lifestyle is the beginning of the growth process. Step 2 Nurture (blue). Nurturing businesses and entrepreneurs into healthy growth and development is accomplished through JSDC’s incentives and programs. Nurture implies personal involvement and care. Step 3 Grow (green). Growth is the outcome of the process, the by-product of [trans]planting and nurturing.
